Sustainable Fashion Week US, 2024

I showcased my collection TEMPLE OF ESOTERICA, that I made during my fashion Virtual Designer Residence Program at Materials for the Arts for Sustainable Fashion Week US , hosted at the Ruth Bader Ginsburg Building in Newark, NJ. My collection is made from all 100% thrifted fabrics and materials, all being hand sewn and hand crafted by me over the course of this summer 2024 . I have dedicated so much time to plan each design of this collection, focusing on the stories that our bodies tell with silhouette. The materials of my garments range from 1950s and 1970s New York Times undeveloped film to thrifted gold chains and charms. Being inspired by my Tarot Reading experiences and spiritual culture, I created a Garment Reading, garments that are developed and photographed as a Tarot Cards with a specific meaning connected back to my Tarot experiences. This collection represents 8 of my favorite Major Arcana Tarot Cards. From starting a new journey within my Creative Direction, to executing and exploring mediums beyond my comfort zone, I handcrafted a collection that it only is 100 percent handsewn and sustainable The Top of the Image (Top Model) holds the overall energy of the Collection, representing the World Card in Tarot. Then the journey reads from left to Right. (The Tarot cards reflected in my garments in order from Left to Right): The Magician, The Empress, The Lovers, Temperance, Justice, and The Star. I am the center of the reading, holding the energy of my Garment Reading of The Future. I am representing the High Priestess Card.
