Brooklyn Fashion Week, 2024

During summer of 2024, I joined my first Virtual Designer-In-Residence Program: Young Designer Program in collaboration with Brooklyn Style Foundation and Materials for the Arts supporting 4 chosen designers, as well as myself between the ages of 18-25. The residency was focused on sustainable upcoming designers and their impact of environmentalism. We sourced materials from the Materials for the Arts warehouse in Astoria, Queens, to create a fashion collection based on sustainability and creative use of the materials we have chosen to form the warehouse. The residency gave me the opportunity to showcase my collection at Brooklyn Fashion Week on October 16th, 2024 in Brooklyn, NY.

I created this collection, ‘THE TEMPLE OF ESOTERICA’ , through hand sewn and handcrafted techniques only. This collection represents 8 of my favorite Major Arcana Tarot Cards. My collection is a Garment Reading. From starting a new journey within my creative direction, to executing and exploring mediums beyond my comfort zone, I created a collection that honors my connection to esoterica, spirituality, and reads as a Tarot Reading. While creating, I played with lace, station, denim, and NYTimes undeveloped film. I call upon the triple goddess and her prayer in this collection.
